PRODUCTION // REMIX

Johnny Rocks' first creative efforts began at ABI Studios in Orlando Florida in 1991, where he re-produced & remixed the Underground Classic “Set It Off” by Strafe; New lyric’s were added & a young singer from the Islands covered the version. Johnny’s vision was to restructure the song into a timeless Dancehall // Raggae single for his young adult party’s at “The Edge”.

As the club events & Mixshows on WAPE, WKTU, & WSIA took up all of Johnny;s time;  Rocks wasn’t able to get back into the studio until November of 2001. During this time, Johnny (along with Thunderpuss & Tracy Young) was chosen to do a Megamix Medley for Madonna in celebration of her GHV2 (Greatest Hits Volume 2) album.

Johnny collaborated w/ Super producer Mac Quayle creating a Brilliant Madonna Megamix; The Remix entered the Billboard Dance Charts at # 38 (Hot Shot Debut) Which eventually reached the #5 Slot on the Billboard Dance Charts…WKTU 103.5 FM mixshow DJ’s gave it airplay. Madonna and (Maverick) Warner Brothers approved & released all 3 mixes: The GHV2 Johnny Rocks Rhythm Radio Edit, GHV2 Johnny Rocks // Mac Quayle Club & Dub mix. All sent to Radio, Club & Mixshow DJ’s.

2 GHV2 CD release parties saw hundreds of Madonna fans celebrate the MedleySoundgarden in Lodi, New Jersey & ICON in New Haven, Connecticut hosted the parties where Johnny Rocks was guest DJ exposing the Medley for the 1st time.

With the success of the GHV2 Madonna Megamix under his belt, Johnny Rocks was given another Warner Brothers project: In April // May 2002 Cher was releasing her new CD “ Song For The Lonely ”. Johnny was elected to remix Cher’s new single: “A Different Kind Of Love Song”…..Here, 4 magnificent mixes were put out: Johnny Rocks (Rhythm Radio Edit), (White Room Club Mix), (Dark Room Dub) & (White Room Mixshow Edit)….

WKTU 103.5 FM New York immediately added the Johnny Rocks Rhythm Radio Edit of Cher’s “A Different Kind Of Love Song”…It hit #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart for two consecutive weeks (ending August 31 & September 7, 2002).
